HealthForward will have 12 AmeriCorps members who will implement health profession pipeline programs (HPPP) with high school, college and health profession students from racial and ethnic backgrounds underrepresented in health professions at high schools and colleges and universities in Fairfield, Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland, Windham Counties. At the end of the first program year the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for engaging 355 students in HPPP and 3000 individuals in underserved communities in health education sessions.
